Wow Best Minimap Addon

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.Appearance Allows changing of blip size (useful since 3.1), border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc. Auto zoom Zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so). Compass A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator. Coordinates Show your location coordinates Expander Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy). Location Show the name of your location more flexibly. Move buttons Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely). Ping Show which team-mate pinged the minimap Position Position the minimap and frames around it.

Range circle Show on the minimap where your range extends to Show / Hide Show or hide various frames related to the minimap Tracking dots Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colorblindness. Wheel zoom Mousewheel to zoom the minimapClick to submit a bug report or request a new feature.Click to help with translating Chinchilla Minimap into your own language. It's an oddity in Blizzard's code. When the button is hidden, the function to open the panel won't do anything.

I don't know why they designed it like that, but there you go. I'm not sure if I can do anything without causing taint or unclickable deadzones.I personally have the Garrison button set to 'show on hover' and I click the button to toggle the report.I thought I should add to this previous comment, that SexyMap is able to 'hide' the Garrison minimap button, but whatever method is occurring with the addon to perform the hide, any keybinding set will still toggle the Garrison frame. I'm not sure why this continues to work with SexyMap, but not Chinchilla, unless the methods by which the minimap buttons are hidden are drastically different.Again, I thought I would mention this in case you (the author) wanted to investigate and attempt to replicate in order to allow for Chinchilla to hide the button but block any other interaction with the button (via keybinding). Hi,when I activate Expander, the range display vanishes. But particularly there it was useful. Would you kindly fix that? Edit: Also the compas would be useful in Expander.

By the way, it was also cool if you could add Transparent-mode to Expander (not 'opacity'), showing only symbols, like players, lumber, anything but the floor; Like opacity but keeping Symbols! For reference, Sexy map has a 'transparent' hud-map.The Expander doesn't have a range circle yet but I can look into adding one. As for transparency, there is an option to change this in the Expander section of the config.

For reference, Sexy map has a 'transparent' hud-map.Another thing: Without expander, it would be nice if I could make my map much larger, but without making all the addon buttons, clock, and text bigger, just the minimap, so that I can actually see something with a quick glimpse on a flatscreen, in combat.Rotation - there is a bug, when you rotate the 'form' it also rotates so you have a vivid square inside that border.A circle-form (as an option) would totally fix that.

The Top 5 WoW Map Add-OnsLets face it the default Blizzard UI is seriously lacking when it comes to looks and functionality. If you are a long time player you already know this, and if you are a new player it won’t be long before you find this out. That being said I applaud Blizzard for making it so easy for 3rd party coders to design for their game client. Whether you are new to the World of Warcraft or an experienced player, Addons can greatly increase the enjoyment you get from the game. There are Raid Addons, Auction Addons, Map Addons, and of course Addons that simply make the default Blizzard UI look better. Can you say 'eye-candy!'

In this article we will be taking a look at 5 of the more popular Map Addons and what functionality (if any) they offer. Questhelper: is an in-game guide which will attempt to tell you what quests to do, in what order to do them, and where in the game world to go to complete them. This can cut down greatly on the time it takes you to complete quests and thus level. Atlasloot Enhanced. : attempts to address the shortcomings of the default blizzard UI when it comes to maps.

Wow

While traveling the world you can bring up a world map of each zone you travel to except instances. This is where Atlas comes in. It’s basically an image viewer that displays a map of the current instance, complete with the location of bosses and other POI’s (points of interest). This is a simple but very useful Addon that I’d recommend to everyone. Gatherer: is an Addon that remembers what “nodes' you have visited in the world whether you are a herbalist, or treasure hunter!

Each time you visit a node the Addon adds it to its database so the next time you are in the same location the node will show up on your mini-map. The display will show as a solid circle if the node is currently up or as an empty circle if the node is currently on cool-down. Honorable Mention: SexyMap. : This is a fairly new map Addon I have been using recently. It is pure eye-candy but a lot of fun. It allows you to move your minimap, hide buttons attached to the minimap, but most importantly allows you to set some very cool borders for your minimap!

It’s true this Addon offers little in the way of functionality but be sure to check it out if you are a fan of eye-candy! ConclusionThis is by no means a definitive list of map Addons for World of Warcraft. These are just a few of the more popular Addons gamers use to add functionality and flare to the default blizzard UI. Two of the best sources for World of Warcraft Addons are.
