Hi, i work in drainage excavations and i’m migrating to C3D, so, i’m not a experienced user of C3DI need to know if the method i’m doing volume calculations is correct,Study: I have superior and inferior points representing the limits of the excavation and i need to calculate the precise cut/fill volumes.Superior and inferior excavation limitsFirst question: I assume the software will not calculate very well because, the superior limit does have an larger area and the ramps between those surfaces are not yet made, am i correct? (Volume: Aprox. 130 Cu.m)Assuming it’s the wrong way, i pasted the inferior surface into the superior generating a new inferior surface but now, with the ramps.New surface generated with the integration of inferior pasted into superior original surfaceAfter this, i got the volume on dashboard (Base: New Surface; Comparision: Superior Original Surface) Volume: Aprox 160 Cu.mPlease, if any of you guys could help me with this, i will be very thankful!I’m sending the original file for more data, if needed.Btw, is there any easy method of changing the volume report (Font, Language and other basics things). I have a user on Civil 3D 2018 that has an issue with the point cloud color map dialog box not appearing. The program does not freeze, hitting esc still escapes the command.
Ola amigos!!!
The dialog box never becomes visible, and clicking on the screen does not interact with where the dialog box would be. This just started happening this morning.Using ALT+TAB, it does not appear the window is behind the cad sessions.
We have tried restarting the cad session as well as the computer.I’m going to attempt a repair install, but any ideas what may be causing this in case the problem comes up again? Hey all,We are creating a Final Plat for an addition using Parcels and we have used Data Shortcut on our center line alignments in order to maintain consistency in stationing and other alignment properties, but our problem is that we do not want the entire alignment shown, specifically where the alignment ‘exits’ the boundary of our addition into future development areas. What I am Platting is the 1st Addition of the site so, naturally, the alignments reach much further than just this one addition. Is there a way, while still using Data Shortcut, to reference only part of an alignment? We tried to mask the alignment (from station to station) in the source drawing to only display what we want in our Final Plat.
This displayed correctly in the source drawing, but the Final Plat still referenced the entire alignment and ignored the mask that was created in the source drawing. We then tried to mask the alignment in the Final Plat drawing, but since we are using Data Shortcut, AutoCAD will not let us create a mask on the alignment in the Final Plat drawing, only in the source drawing.I am attaching a.jpg to better illustrate our intent. I have highlighted in green the parts of the alignments we want to show. Essentially, we only want to show a center line alignment within the confines of our boundary while still honoring the properties (stationing) from our source drawing.Another hope of ours is to create one Outlot from the highlighted area to the east, but because of the intersecting alignments, five parcels are created. This can be fixed with a workaround if we just move the center line alignments to a ‘none’ site, but they would still display, which takes us back to displaying only part of the alignment. Fixing the Data Shortcut issue described earlier would presumably also fix this.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!Zack.
